Changing The World,
One Birth At A Time
Philosophy

I believe all births should have one thing in common: women should feel empowered, autonomous, and supported no matter where or how they choose to give birth. I have become dedicated to helping growing families achieve this by providing them with the care, knowledge, encouragement, and support to help them feel confident in their choices and empowered in their birth space.

Because every family and birth are unique, I serve women in all types of birth settings and strive to help you achieve your goals for you and your baby. I look forward to meeting you and walking beside you in your journey!

"I do not care what kind of birth you have... a homebirth, scheduled cesarean, epidural hospital birth, or if you birth alone in the woods next to baby deer. I care that you had options, that you were supported in your choices, and that you were respected." - January Harshe
About Me

Hi, I'm Alisha. I'm the student midwife, holistic doula, placenta encapsulator, and child birth educator behind The Warrior Within. I have always been interested in learning about birth, but my journey into the field began in 2010 when I attended my first birth at 17 years old. This was one of the most incredible, life changing experiences I've had in my life, and it was at that point that I realized this was my calling. I began self-studying and attended births as doula until 2018 when I decided I wanted to do more. That year, I founded The Warrior Within and began teaching the world about birth. I continued attending births until 2019, when I decided to become a certified holistic doula through the Naturopathic Institute of Therapies and Education (NITE). Once I graduated my program, I applied to MCU and attended there as a student midwife until 2021, when I decided I wanted to pursue a path that aligned more with my visions of how I wanted to practice as a midwife. I am now currently going through the PEP route to become a licensed midwife in the state of Michigan. My goal is to graduate in 2 more years. In addition to my midwifery studies, I'm also continuing my education at NITE to become a naturopathic doctor. My goal is to become a licensed naturopathic midwife in Michigan.
